Colour Sergeant Frederick Roads, enlisted in 1885, He saw service during the Ashanti Rebellion earning the medal and star. He served in South Africa from November 1899 until 1903 gaining the QSA with five clasps and the Army Long Service Good Conduct Medal in 1904.
