A menu from Dulag Luft (Oberursel), dated 5th April 1941, and signed on both the front and reverse by the 17 escapers involved in the first mass escape of the war by British officers. This escape also marked the completion and use of the first tunnel constructed by RAF POWs during World War II.

Among the notable signatures is that of Squadron Leader Roger Joyce Bushell, famously known as Big X from "The Great Escape." He is joined by Captain Harry "Wings" Day, who, alongside Bushell, planned and organized the legendary escape, and Lieutenant Commander James "Jimmy" Buckley, DSC, among others.

Bushell was initially given a place in the escape tunnel but chose to escape on the same day as the tunnel break by cutting through the wire surrounding a small park in the campgrounds. His decision to forgo the tunnel was strategic, allowing him an earlier getaway to catch a specific train. Tragically, Bushell was later murdered by the Gestapo following the infamous "Great Escape" from Stalag Luft III in March 1944 during WW2.
