GUANGXU SIX CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
the dish decorated in polychrome enamels with five writhing dragons amidst clouds and flame scrolls, the underside with three scrolling lotus blossoms
41cm diam
PROVENANCE: From a Private Somerset Collection, acquired by the vendors grandfather's family whilst residing in Batu Gajah, Malaya. He was born in Malaya in 1905. His father was born in 1875 and entered Civil Service, Perak, 1897; and thence by decent.
An impressive dish. There is a small rim chip and resulting hairline. Also, what appears to be a small firing fault to the rim and a resulting hairline. Some light rubbing in places.
