1840 "Buchanan" Prepaid Private Lettersheet. Very fine example of the second type lettersheet dated in central panel "7.6.40", neatly cancelled by a red Atherstone cds for JU.8.1840 with a red manuscript "Pd1" alongside. Addressed to Ashby de la Zouch and signed by Buchanan as usually seen. Very rare.
