More About Artist: Annie Williams was born in 1942 in London but grew up in Cardiff, Wales. A qualified nurse she began her working life in Great Ormond St. Hospital before studying art at City and Guilds from 1966 to 1969. Williams is an elected member of the Royal Society of Watercolour Painters, Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers & Royal Society of British Artists.
Over the course of her carrier she has won numerous awards, most recently the 2009 Turner Watercolour Award.
Her recent work has been almost entirely still-life. She enjoys playing with shapes, pattern and colour, mixing the familiar with some abstraction and precision with suggestion.
