A 19th century Chinese lozenge-shaped pedestal dish decorated in enamels: seated male figure dressed in a blue robe and reading a Chinese five-line verse headed by three larger characters; the shaped border decorated with four butterflies interspersed between sprigs of peony and prunus blossom; the underside decorated with four peaches and four alternating bats; slightly spreading oval foot decorated with stylised waves. (LWH 22.5 x 17.25 x 4.5 cm)

* Condition: In good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. There are several flakes from the enamel to the insects' wings to the border of the dish. Some gilt wear to the rim. No other faults.
