A GEORGE III SILVER TANKARD
by William & James Priest, London 1766, of tapering cylindrical form with a domed hinged cover and S-scroll handle, the body with a reeded girdle, the cover with a scroll-form thumbpiece. 18.5cm high, 25.6 troy ounces
The marks are clear. The lid is fully marked. There is some lateral play in the hinge. No engraving. A small split in the rim where the handle meets the body. There is a distorted area to the base.
