An Archaic Bronze Ritual Food Vessel and Cover, Dou, Eastern Zhou dynasty, Warring States Period the deep rounded body supported by a slender stem and flared foot, with a band of decoration around the upper body, filled with triangles and circlets, and with a similar pattern repeated both on the stem and foot and on the domed cover, the central flared knob cast with three cloud-shape dots surrounded by a band of diamond forms, the bronze with dark patina and blue and green malachite encrustation. H:31cm Bought from Tsu Po Antique Co. in Hong Kong on 21 October 1988 with $160,000, with invoice.
