A large Chinese porcelain blue and white ginger jar, Qianlong four character mark but later, probably early 20th century, painted with prunus on a cracked ice ground, with dentil band to rim and foot, with cover (repaired, possibly matched), 11½in. (29.2cm.) high. The cover is possibly matched, and has been extensively broken and glued back together. Heavy glaze wear to top of cover. Firing crack inside to the base but it is not visible on the exterior. Otherwise good, with no other faults.
