Salta. 1915-17 Stampless postcards, two with Base A.P.O Z c.d.s (Alexandria) with boxed "H.S "SALTA" / No" or "H.M.H.S "SALTA" / LONDON / OFFICIAL No. 136744 / TON: 4239", three other cards of the ship posted unstamped at A.P.O S15 (Rouen) or Southampton (2, one charged ½d). Also a 1917 (Apr 9) cover from Southampton, to Pte E.A Birt R.A.M.C on the ship, posted the day before the ship struck a mine off Le Havre and sank, the cover endorsed "missing believed drowned" above a cachet of R.A.M.C Records.
