1853 (Nov 12) Entire letter from Liverpool to New Orleans carried on the "Canada", posted at the Floating Receiving House, the 2/- rate (1/- + 1/- late fee) paid by twelve 1841 2d blues each cancelled "466", "LIVERPOOL / F.R.H" backstamp. Most stamps cut into and one crossed by a horizontal file fold, nevertheless a rare and spectacular franking. Photo on Page 58.
