W. Jones - London - A 19th century 'New Portable Orrery' housed within a wooden box. It features a red wooden base, lacquered paper surface with seasons, months, and astrology, and a brass rotating mechanism. Includes the sun, earth, and planet/moon. Some parts are missing. The mechanism is in working order and the piece is accompanied by a handwritten letter detailing how the Orrery works. The piece measures approximately 10cm x 24cm x 19.5cm, without the box.
