A FIRST WORLD WAR PAIR AND MEMORIAL PLAQUE TO THE EAST SURREY REGIMENT. A Great War Pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 57325 Pte W.R. Penfold E. Surr R. Plaque to William Roy Penfold. Penfold was the son of William and Harriette Penfold of 91 Sydney Road, Raynes Park, London. He served with the East Surrey Regiment and the 14th Battalion of the Welsh Regiment as number 55207. He died on the 30th August 1918 and is buried at Morval British Cemetery, his headstone reads 'From all the strife at rest', he was 26 years old. Plaque with Buckingham Palace letter and inner and outer covers, medals unmounted with ribbons and distressed box of issue. *CR Paperwork distressed. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
