DOLLIF ROLLISSON, HALTON. A MID 18TH CENTURY OAK AND BURR WALNUT LONGCASE CLOCK The arched hood with glazed door enclosing a 12" arched brass dial with urn spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a foliate engraved centre with seconds dial and calendar aperture fronting an eight day weight driven movement striking one a bell. (213.5cm high)

Dollif Rollinson died 36 years old. Halton was then a rural village near Leeds but now part of it.
The article refers to Thomas Crofts. He later had his own business in Leeds.
