A RARE CHARLES II OAK BACKSTOOL, LANCASHIRE, CIRCA 1670. Having a fully enclosed back, the plain back panel with deep frame moulding, below a carnation and tulip-flower carved and scroll profiled cresting rail, pyramid finial uprights, the boarded seat with moulded edge, on block and ball-turned front legs, joined by a ring and reel block centred fore-rail and plain side and rear stretchers, turned front feet, 96cm high, 51cm wide.
