Rare Napoleonic Period Sergeant's Brown Bess Musket and Bayonet


.650 carbine, smoothbore, 37 inch browned barrel.  Front stud foresight.  Breech with proof stamps.  Lock plate with line edge engraving.  Crowned GR cypher and tang with "Tower".  Polished hand rail butt, full stock with swelling in the middle section.  Butt with stamped "BO" and broad arrow with date 1805. Long tang, brass butt plate, shield escutcheon, trigger guard, side plate, ramrod pipes and end cap.  Steel ramrod and sling swivels with buff leather rifle sling.  Well fitting carbine bayonet.  13 1/4 inch, triangular form blade with hollow ground rear flats.  Forte stamped "G Salter".  Steel shoulder and socket.  A well proportioned scale down of the India pattern Brown Bess which was only issued to Sergeants.
