A FINE AND RARE 17TH CENTURY CHINESE CARVED MUTTON JADE GOOSE FORM SCHOLARS SCROLL WEIGHT Late Ming/Qing, carved with head turned and laying upon folding wings. 10 cm x 6.5 cm. Provenance: Inherited from the vendors Grandfather, who served in the Indian Army in the early part of the 20th century, it is believed the jade was acquired in Japan C1910-20. Note: See a very similar Song-Ming Dynasty (960-1644) paperweight, lot 3052 from the Yen-Lin Shui Ge Collection, Sold Sotheby's Hong Kong 30th May 2018.
