FIRST WORLD WAR MAPS BELIEVED TO HAVE BELONGED TO GENERAL SIR HUBERT GOUGH.
Three conjoined maps and another of the Somme region of France showing the fall back of the German troops to the Hindenburg Line in the Spring of 1917. with annotations and trench lines written on by hand. such as 'Advance April 23rd 17' and Gavrelle 'Captured April 23'. General Sir Hubert Gough was to command the 5th Army during the First World War, his leadership and success are well recorded. These maps were found in his family home after his death and are offered for sale by his direct descendants.
