WW1 BWM and Victory Medal to Lieut J.R.G. Muir extremely fine. James Robert Grant Muir died of wounds with 1/7th (Blythswood) Bn Highland Light Infantry on 17th September 1918 and is buried in Queant Communal Cemetery British Extension. With original ID disc Lt J.R.G. Muir H.L.I., copied photo in uniform, CWGC, Soldiers Died, MIC and War Diary entry, he was commissioned from Pte into HLI 23/11/16, landed France after 1/1/16, War Diary for 17/9/18 shows Bn at Inchy-en-Artois, "About 6.30pm German put down barrage on our line & attacked & took Moeuvres, our artillery replied with all calibres. Lt J.R.G. Muir B Coy died of G.S.W. received. It would appear therefore he was wounded and died the same day. War Diary actually lists him under Killed in Action. From Langside, Glasgow.
