1871 Pattern brass helmet to the 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards, a twelve pointed star centered on the Garter motto, ‘Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense’ (shame on him who thinks evil of it) surrounding the Prince of Wales' feathers, fluted plume holder with black and red horsehair plume, with foliate ear rosettes, leather backed brass chinscales and quilted silk lining. Helmet tarnished in places. Some interior bolts which hold the front plate are missing.
