A 19thC Zulu hardwood Knobkerrie, with plain globular head on a cylindrical tapering haft 64cm long, together with "The Washing of the Spears" The Rise and Fall of the Zulu Nation, by Donald R. Morris hardback with dustjacket and The Anglo Zulu war of 1879, ring bound extracts (3) Note: The Zulu Knobkerrie was purportedly brought back from the South African Zulu war by Charles Pugh of the King’s Dragoon Guards (father of Charles and Edward whose medals are being sold in the previous lot). Sold with extensive copied research into Charles’ service history and correspondence relating to the erecting of a headstone to his memory. Charles Pugh Snr is confirmed as having served in the Zulu War and was entitled to the South Africa General Service Medal.
