Medal, King's South Africa Medal, named to Lieut. Hon. R. Bruce, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, two clasps: South Africa 1901 & 1902, ribbon en suite The Honourable Robert Bruce (1882-1959), the second son of Victor Bruce, 9th Earl of Elgin and 13th Earl of Kincardine (1849-1917) and his first countess Constance Mary Bruce (née Lady Constance Carnegie) (1851-1909), enjoyed a distinguished military career after South Africa. He was Adjutant and Quartermaster of the Cavalry School between 1909 and 1912. He gained the rank of Captain in 1911 in the 11th Hussars. He was Commandant of the Cavalry Cadet School in 1916. He gained the rank of Brevet Major in 1917. He gained the rank of Major in the 11th Hussars. He was District Remount Officer in 1920. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Morayshire, He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Morayshire. He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1956.
