A Parian Ware neoclassical bust of Clytie the water nymph, late 19th century after the Roman original, possibly by Ridgeway or Copeland, 31cm high (at fault), with a Parian Ware neoclassical figure modelled as a water carrier, 37.5cm high (2)

More Information

The Clytie bust shows a loss to the plinth foot (piece not present). There are pinholes around the join between the bust and the plinth. Otherwise the bust shows minor wear commensurate age, with no noticeable chips, cracks or losses, however it is very dirty and would benefit from cleaning. The water carrier shows a hairline crack between her left hand and the handle of the vessel, a hairline crack around her neck, and a further hairline crack running vertically up the folds of the robe above her right foot. The figure shows various small scuffs to the body and ingrained dirt to the high points throughout. There is also a white residue present in some areas.
