1946 OHMS envelope bearing 8c with 22 OC CDS, from the HK Immigration Office to the British Consul-General in Harbin. Boxed red “Mail route to destination/ blockaded, return to sender” on front and boxed RETOUR. Backstamped Chang Chun, Hong Kong (13 DE) and HK RLO (20 DE). Rare Chang Chun is 150 miles from Harbin. Delivery was impossible due to the advance of Mao Tse Tung's forces. See also lots 205 and 581.
