A rare 4 shot 12 bore American Roper’s patent repeating percussion shotgun, number 314, 48” overall, damascus barrel 28” with knurled ring at the muzzle; the cylindrical magazine having hinged loading flap marked “Roper. Sporting Arms Co. Hartford. Conn. Pat. Apr. 10. 1866. July 4. 1868” and containing 4 original reloadable steel percussion cartridges; cocking the action removes the fired cartridge from the chamber, revolves the magazine, and lines up the next cartridge; walnut stock with plain fore end and nicely figured butt with chequered wrist. Good Working Order and Condition, retaining traces of colour hardened finish to frame. Plate 7
