1854 Royal and Ancient Golf Club St Andrews May Golf Meeting Report - original details from The Field Supplement Newspaper dated Saturday May 13th 1854 - the article covers the competition between members for The Silver Cross of St Andrews and The Bombay Medal - it lists all the players to incl Glennie, John Bruce, Sir Thomas Moncrieff, Mr Fairlie, Mr James Balfour, Mr Hunter, Mr White Melville et al Winner of The Silver Cross went to Mr Fairlie on 95 strokes - the Bombay was not settled because of 'their equality' and they were appointed to compete again on Thursday - well presented display mf&g 12.5 x 11.5".
