£30
A late-Victorian Tartanware sewing box in MacFarlane tartan, the lid featuring a transfer-printed image of a child, hen and chicks
Overall condition is good. There are losses and wear to the "tartan" at the corners and round the edges of the lid. The top of the lid is widely pitted and marked. There is one more significant flawed at the bottom left corner of the image, where the finish has cracked and bubbled. Covering to the bottom surface is worn, particularly round the edges.
Internally the box is fairly fresh. There is a stain/water mark on the lid, over the label.
