Mary Seton Watts - Compton Pottery - An Arts & Crafts vase of tapering form with waisted neck, incised decoration of stylised seedpods in pale green against the textured blue ground, lacking cover, unmarked, height 34cm.
A very similar design appears on the cover of Mary Seton Watts and the Compton Pottery book published by Hilary Calvert and Louise Boreham.
There are no substantial chips, scuffs or scratches but there are some scuffs to the very base rim edge and in places the paint has rubbed, discoloured and is faded. There is a manufacturing flaw to the body which has been decorated over in manufacture.
