A 1976 Kelly’s Directory of Portsmouth and Southsea in good condition and some 230 Portsmouth standard size postcards, including some commissioned by a former dealer of relatively modern views on old size postcards, and plain-backed cards of city scenes. Approximately 42 feature naval related themes including HMS Victory, naval base and barracks; and 23 feature trams and illuminated trams (though some are plain backed). There are also more than 110 postcard size images of photos of postcards on photographic paper (see top right of the main photo. Note: A number of these are the same images repeated several times – they are not all different). Our 2nd photo shows 20 of what we consider the strongest cards plus a few more of the tram images. There are also views of Southsea seafront, the Canoe Lake, workers leaving the dockyard, the Guildhall etc. The 3rd photo shows most of the tram images (at least one is repeated). Many of the cards are in good condition but some have creasing or other faults.
