A .577'' VOLUNTEER PATTERN P53 TWO BAND PERCUSSION RIFLE BEARING POST 1855 BIRMINGHAM COMMERCIAL PROOF HOUSE MARKS, its lock is marked Tower 1859 with the royal crown on its tail, the lock is in correct working order and has a nipple protector which lacks its retention chain, it is missing its ramrod, the 31'' barrel has lost all of its original blued finish and has very light overall pitting, the barrel is fitted with a bayonet bar and has a hinged ladder rear sight graduated to 1000 yards, the lock still bears traces of varnish on its face and its hammer is partly engraved, the walnut stock is intact and is fitted with a lanyard loop on the heel
