Churchman's (W.A & A.C), Cigarettes - Stars Of Variety (unproduced series c1946) - Original Artwork - Bud Flanagan - an original over-painted photograph artwork, completed by artists at Mardon, Son & Hall for production of the cigarette card series. Accompanied by two handwritten letters from Flanagan dated 1946, giving permission to use the photograph for production, and the other letter informing that 'Flanagan & Allen' have split and are no longer a double act so 'I suggest you use a single of me'. Artwork size: 8x4.5", approx.

Bud Flanagan, OBE (14 October 1896 - 20 October 1968) was a British music hall and vaudeville entertainer and comedian, and later a television and film actor. He was best known as being one half of the comedy and music act Flanagan and Allen with his partner Chesney Allen. Flanagan was famous as a wartime entertainer and his achievements were recognised when he was appointed an OBE in 1959.
