A lot comprising of two types of counter-marked and gilt Tonga coinage, each type counter-marked for a different occasion. The first type are a set of 1968 one and two Pa'anga coins counter-marked 'Investiture 1971' for entry into the commonwealth. The second type comprise four sets of 1967 1 Pa'anga and 50 Seniti coins counter-marked 'In Memoriam 1965 + 1970' minted in memory of the death of Queen Salote Tupou III of Tonga with issue limits of 3,000 and 1,000 respectively, they were made using spare coins from the Royal Mint.
