The leather scabbard wrapped in paper reportedly inscribed ’This sword was taken from the side of a Russian The Day After the Battle of the Alma September 21 1854 by John Martin of H.M.S. Fury.’ Provenance: John Martin is a direct descendant of the current vendor’s family. 82.5 cm total length.
