An early 19c Eight day longcase clock, the 30cm arched painted dial signed F. Brodrick, Whittlesey and having paintings of fruit in the corners and flowers in the arch. The movement is of standard construction with rack strike and anchor escapement and is contained in an oak and mahogany case with arched hood with swan neck pediments over. Fluted columns flank the dial and the trunk has canted front corners and a long trunk door with an oval central inlay and mahogany crossbanded edges. The base is plain with similar crossbanded edges and has a wavy plinth. 208cms h.

The movement appears complete but needs cleaning. The dial is yellowing and has age cracks. the hood has raised veneers below the swan necks and the patera are missing. There is some damage to the bottom of the mahogany panel above the trunk door. the general finish would benefit from polishing.
