R.M.S. TITANIC: On board postcard from Albert 'Herbert' Denbuoy with a starboard view colour illustration of Titanic at sea with sailboats and seagulls in foreground. Printed above the image is 'White Star Royal Mail Steamer 'Titanic' Tonnage 45000 Tons, Length 882½ feet, Breadth 92½ feet'. Message in ink on reverse states, 'To Reggie with love from Bert,' 13.7cm x 8.7cm.
NB Albert 'Herbert' Denbuoy was a Second-Class passenger travelling to New Jersey. He did not survive and his body was not identified. Denbuoy would have purchased this rare postcard in Titanic's souvenir shop. The recipient of the card was Denbuoy's younger brother, Reginald, it was mailed to him in an envelope (not included) along with other correspondence to the family. Ex-Henry Aldridge and Son lot 274 18th October 2008.
