1970 (2 Mar) ½p on 1d, 3p on 7d and 4p on 10d, three handpainted surcharge essays for the 1971 Decimal currency set, similar but not identical to the issued surcharges, using pre-decimal stamps on unglazed paper, affixed to dark grey card (151x204mm) annotated '2-3-70' on reverse. Insignificant minor blemishes but most interesting and unique. Ex Bradbury Wilkinson archives (RL 21/4/93, lot 1255). With issued stamps (on glazed paper) for comparison.
