A FINE VICTORIAN KINGS DRAGOON GUARDS OFFICER's HELMET. A Kings Dragoon Guards Officers 1871 Pattern helmet, the helmet plate with a central oval badge with a Lion above a Queen's Crown within the motto 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense' enameled in red and blue, against a many-pointed star and scrolling 'Kings Dragoon Guards' The brass helmet with leaf decorated front band and rear top to back strap, with a red plume with patera top, with leather backed link chin strap, the interior with original faded and frayed lining. 36cm high, 23cm front to back. *CR Plume replaced, light marks to the surface, interior frayed in places and with signs of use. Cracking and slight loss to red enamel. A fine helmet.
