Spioenkop Wines, situated in the Elgin Valley, was established in 2008 with Koen Roose as winemaker. Koen’s philosophy is that of low intervention, allowing the wines to express their region. His single-minded, terroir-driven approach encapsulates the passion that helps redefine the Cape wine industry. Biodynamic practices are also followed, although Spioenkop is not certified biodynamic. This vintage is 86% Chenin Blanc (64% Stellenbosch & 22% Elgin grapes) + 14% Chardonnay (Spioenkop Elgin).
