An Art Nouveau Goldscheider cold-painted terracotta bust of Cleo De Merod, signed Montenave, applied with foil backed glass cabochons, stamped Goldscheider, incised modellers name.

Cleo De Merod was a famous dancer of the day and was the mistress of King of Belgium. 67cm high

Occasional minor wear and flaking to the cold painted decoration around the edges of her shoulders and the edges of the socle. The central cabochon below her neck is inset into composition which has a shrunk and flaked slightly. Otherwise in good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks detected.
