With normal postal rate from France; "10" changed to "In [all] 1N2" (10d ex France + 4d London to Plymouth) and having a fine "IA/14" London Foreign Branch transit Bishop Mark on the flap. The writer asks for news of his son, the ship's third cooper (the ship carried a cargo of wine). Good example of pre-War French vessels being impounded and their crews taken prisoner.
