WW1 Gordon Highlanders / Cypher Officeer’s Group of Three Medals.
Awarded to Lieutenant Robert Murray Nassau Molesworthy, who after being wounded with the “Gordons” was appointed a Cypher Officer on the Italian Front. Comprising: 1914/15 Star, “2/LIEUT GORD HIGHRS”, British War Medal, Victory Medal, “LIEUT”. Medals loose.
Lieutenant Robert Murray Nassau Molesworthy was commissioned in the Gordon Highlanders, arriving in France in March 1915. He was severely wounded in early 1917 and invalided home. Following his recovery he was employed as a Cypher Officer on the Italian Front and following the war, when he was placed on the Reserve of Cypher Officers, he was asked to join General Gorton's Budapest mission of 1919. He died in 1976.
