A WWI Royal Naval group of five to '279462 J Hawkins Ch Sto HMS Fox', Naval General Service Medal with Persian Gulf 1909-14 clasp, 1914-15 Star, war Medal , Victory Medal and Edward VII Royal Naval LSGC (HMS Hermes). *Notes- HMS Hermes was a Highflyer-class protected cruiser built for the Royal Navy in the 1890s. In 1913 she was moved to the reverse fleet and converted to become the first experimental seaplane carrier. After successful trials she was paid off in December 1913 and recommission at the outbreak of war in 1914 as a depot ship for the Royal Naval Air service and was torpedoed by a German submarine with the loss of 21 souls.
