A Quality 18th Century mahogany cased Mining Surveyors compass by Cole of Fleet Street, London, with brass extendable viewers and compass, the case with hinged folding doors
the condition of the compass is excellent condition with 360 degree scale beneath a brass bezel measuring 13 cm diameter with extendable brass viewers set in a very good mahogany case measuring 15 cm by 17 cm when closed and showing a small crack appearing in the base, a sliver of loss to the edge of one of the door and some light marks and scratches to the patina consistent with age and use. All in all the compass is in very good original, untouched, unrestored and as found condition
