Six commemorative first day cover envelopes of "Bylismy Stalag Luft III" (The Great Escape), one of which is signed by Flight Lieutenant Eric Williams (Writer of The Wooden Horse), Ley Kenyon (Forger of The Great Escape), Group Captain Harry "Wings" Day (Together with Roger Bushell, he planned and organised the "Great Escape"), Flight Lieutenant Oliver Philpot (The Wooden Horse Escapee 1/3), Lieutenant Colonel Jack "Mad Jack" Churchill (fought in the Second World War with a longbow, a basket-hilted Scottish broadsword, and a set of bagpipes).

James, Sergeant Per Bergsland (one of only three men to escape to freedom in the "Great Escape"), Flight Lieutenant Francis "Errol" Flinn (feigned madness as was repatriated), Pilot Officer William "Tex" Ash (repeat escaper, labelled as the model for Virgil Hilts, the lean, leather-jacketed airman played by Steve McQueen in the 1963 film The Great Escape").
