WW2 Third Reich Polizei-Seitengewehre Police Bayonet with single edged fullered blade 333mm in length, maker marked "Carl Eikhorn, Solingen". Crossguard is unit accountability stamped "S Me III 46". ( Schutzpolizei, Merseburg district, Third precinct, item no. 46) Stag horn grips with Police Eagle insignia inset. Stylised eagles head pommel. Working release catch and slotted for rifle. Overall length 449mm. Complete with scabbard in dark brown leather. Not matching with unit markings "S.D.IV 466" (Schutzpolizei, Duesseldorf district, 4th Precinct, item no 466) with previous accountability number 18 struck out.
Some slight rust to the plating on the blade. Normal service wear to the rest of the item.
