A post 1901 naval Midshipman’s dirk, blade 18” by Gieve, Matthews & Seagrove Ltd, etched with crowned fouled anchor, Royal Arms, and scrolls; regulation pattern brass hilt with white fishskin grip, cords and knot; in its brass mounted leather sheath, the locket engraved with owner’s initials “J.P.W.P”. GC (one hanging ring missing, blade has been polished, no gilt remaining). Gieve, Matthews and Seagrove Ltd listed as 1907-1911. £250-350
