Maurice Crawshaw was born in 1947 in the city of Sheffield. His paintings convey a sense of expanse and distance with the expressive texturing of the foreground and detail. He later came across the art of Candlesmoking which was a pastime the Victorians used for entertainment. He produced work using only the smoke from a candle on a canvas of glass. Sunrise depicts an ethereal foggy landscape scene of lake, trees and the structure of a house in the background. Together with authentication certificate.
