AN AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOGRAPH OF LORD KITCHENERS MISSION TO JAPAN 1909.
Two copies of a photograph taken in the grounds of the Shiba Palace Tokyo of the 'Group of Lord Kitchener's Mission to Japan to attend the Imperial Grand Japanese Manoeuvres, November 1909'. Major-General Sir Henry Rawlinson, Major General Murata, Colonel W. Lambton, Field Marshall Viscount Kitchener, Mr M. Assano, Lt Col. Yoshida, Major Lord Brooke and Captain Fitzgerald, all standing in Dress Uniform wearing Orders and Medals. One copy framed, glazed and mounted with description to the mount, the other unframed, lacking title but with signatures of Rawlinson, Murata, Lambton, Kitchener, Assano, Yoshida and Brooke, the mount marked for a photographer in Japan. Image, 28.5 x 42cm, in mount 42cm x 55. Framed example 53 x 65cm.
