A TWO GERMAN SCHLAGER DUELLING SWORDS, one inscribed to the basket hilt 'O Akademia von Threm, Dr A Nigler' with knight head stamp to the tang, the other stamped Wegereberg & Stamm, Solingen both with 34½" blades, polychrome fabric fitted baskets and contoured ray skin grips, together with a duelling student's peaked cap and pill box hat with inscription and maker's label for Stempel-Schulz Darmstadt and Adolf Vireeht Tubingen

Sword 1 - Blade 80% nickel plating remaining, patinated and bubbling in places. The edges show some signs of cutting/contact

Basket/Guards - Appear original, complete and without repair, 40% plating remaining. Some rust and some patination.

Fabric - discoloured, some small to medium losses

Ray skin - complete, some slight wear

Sword 2 - Blade - no nickel plating. Pitted for the entire length (some heavy), stamp clear

Basket/guards - appear original, complete without repair

Fabric - discoloured with some surface losses

Ray skin grips - Complete, with a little wear

Cap 1 - A little discoloured, faded silver wire thread monogram to the crown

Cap 2 - Some loses and moth holes to the felt crown. Cuts and damage to the leather peak
