Cook Is. 1844 11 page letter written "on board John Williams, Decr 20th 1844", arrived at Tahiti on 24th Dec, from where it was sent to Liverpool. Originally addressed to Mr Thornton in London, it was readdressed to Mrs Gill of Hackney and Mr Hy Gill, being sent by George Gill at Rarotonga. Accompanied by a lengthy transcript of the letter, the letter has some tape repairs and is somewhat worn and stained on the cover, but a rare Missionary letter. (See photo) (L)
